- The U.S. Census Bureau tells us that over the 10 years from 6/30/07 to 6/30/17, the number of “renter” households in the USA increased by 8.4 million to 43.4 million while the number of “owner” households increased by just 0.9 million to 76.1 million.
- According to Zillow 50% of the residents of the City of Denver rent a home or apartment as of 2016, this is an increase of 5.6 percentage points since 2006.
- Over the latest 12 months, however, from 6/30/17 to 6/30/18, the number of “renter” households in the United States declined by 0.1 million to 43.3 million, while the number of “owner” households increased by 1.8 million to 77.9 million.
- A third of Millennial renters can’t buy a home they believe because they can’t afford the down payment. Why? Many first time home buyers still believe they must put 20% down. WE MUST TELL THEM THEY NEED AS LITTLE AS 3% DOWN TO BUY A HOME!
